We get asked about the best time to post on social media a lot! Luckily, social media posting services (Sprout, SEMrush, Hootsuite, Hubspot, and others) usually give recommendations for optimal posting times as you are creating posts.Â
Â
If you do social media on the regular, however, you know that sometimes it’s necessary to post on the specific social media platform directly and not from a third-party posting service. For example, it’s very hard to tag people on LinkedIn or Instagram through third-party platforms, requiring you to go direct. In case you do need to post directly to the platform, those optimal times are no longer at the ready and its good to have a rough idea of when to post for best results.Â

Â
Sprout Social just published a new report on the best times to post on social media, and the results are pretty consistently Monday through Thursday from 9 or 10 am to 1 or 2 pm and Fridays, 9 to 11 am (see image above). According to Sprout, this is applicable globally, meaning whatever time zone you are in, you should be able to publish your posts with the times provided and see positive engagement.Â
