CEO, Co-Founder,
Krissy Rushing Tomlin:

Krissy got her start in technology journalism in residential audio video way back in 1997, serving as Editor or Executive Editor for several large national magazines, including Home Theater, Stereophile Guide to Home Theater, Connected Guide to the Digital Home, Best Buy’s BEST Magazine, and Home Theater Interiors.

She learned early the nuanced language of audio video and the art of making complex technology both understandable and entertaining while managing editorial teams and processing large amounts of content on consistent deadlines.


Her byline has appeared in media outlets like Wired magazine, Prosource News, TechnologyTell, Retail Observer, as well as several custom publications for manufacturers and associations, including XM Satellite Radio, AMX, and CEDIA. Deemed an expert in the home theater and smart home space, she also authored the book “Home Theater Design.”


As print publications began to yield to digital, Krissy combined her extensive AV background and content writing skills into marketing for the audio video channels–from custom AV to consumer AV to pro AV to broadcast AV. She was in marketing for Stewart Filmscreen; an SEO consultant and strategic copywriter for Monster Products; and Director of Content for Telos Alliance for more than five years. She’s worked with companies and media outlets in all sectors of the AV industry, including integrators, manufacturers, and even vibrant PR firms like Dimension PR and KMB Communications.


In essence, Krissy’s AV experience, writing chops, and marketing expertise all coalesce in content, marketing, and strategy that gets RISE clients a YES in the marketplace.

Co-Founder, Jayson Tomlin:

Jayson did not start out life as a marketer. His goal was to make hit records and tour the world! However, technology and the technical side of the production process came easily to him as a second-generation musician and recording engineer. After training as an audio engineer in 1994, Jayson discovered a passion for telling others about what he knows and teaching them to love what it does. This led him into sales, support, and ultimately representing audio manufacturers on a global scale.


His career has spanned 25 years and covered audio production, mastering, audiophile, broadcast, radio, streaming, and live mixing…and yes, he still plays in a band! In 2014, Jayson and his business partner made an audio discovery that eventually became a patented technology that soon garnered the attention of the world’s best and most prestigious music producers, such as Steely Dan’s Gary Katz. Called FiDef, Gary and Jayson toured the world and worked at legendary studios such as Abbey Road, The Village, The RAK, and more, giving technology demonstrations.


His love for teaching and training eventually pushed Jayson more toward marketing where he served as Senior Director of Strategic Marketing for broadcast AV company Telos Alliance, which is credited as the creator of AoIP in the broadcast world. Jayson’s strategic nature derives from his passion for understanding and explaining how things work. His focus at RISE is marketing strategy, product marketing, competitive analysis, and business planning. Jayson is certified in various levels of marketing, including Hubspot SEO, SEO II, Digital Marketing, and Content Marketing. Krissy and Jayson have been married since October 2022.
