ASCENDO Introduces AIA2-10K2 IS Amplifier for Unmatched Home Theater Bass Power

ASCENDO Bass Amp AIA2

Premiering at ISE 2025, this new bass amp is designed for infrasonic frequencies below 20Hz down to the single digits.

Heilsbronn, Germany – (January 16, 2025) – After nearly a decade of pioneering the infrasonic subwoofer market, ASCENDO Immersive Audio GmbH has solidified its position as the leader in this specialized category, consistently pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in high-performance home theaters. The company’s latest innovation—the AIA2-10K2 IS 1U 19” amplifier is designed to deliver unparalleled bass performance for the most demanding infrasonic subwoofers. It will be unveiled at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025, February 4–7, 2025 in Stand #2E300.

The Challenge: Even Commercial Amplifiers Can’t Handle Infrasonic Bass
In its journey to perfect the ultimate home theater experience, ASCENDO encountered a significant challenge—existing amplifiers, even beefy commercial models, simply couldn’t meet the extreme demands of delivering full power at sub-20Hz frequencies, down to the lowest single digits. Most commercial amplifiers, especially those designed for public address (PA) systems, focus on short-term bass output. They’re built for rock concerts where saving space and weight is critical, and where amplifiers only need to deliver high power for 20 to 40 milliseconds, and rarely below 35Hz.

But home theaters are a different arena. They require continuous, sustained power, especially in the low-frequency effects (LFE) range. The typical PA amplifier, with its lightweight power supply and reliance on short bursts of dynamic power, falls short of delivering the deep, rich, and consistent bass that home theater content demands.

The Solution: ASCENDO’s High-Power AIA2-10K2 IS Amplifier
To meet this challenge head-on, ASCENDO developed its unique AIA2-10K2 IS amplifier with a fully balanced design. The amplifier is engineered to provide stable, continuous output power across all frequencies, starting as low as 3Hz. Unlike standard amplifiers that quickly lose power after a few milliseconds, this design ensures no voltage sag, even under the most demanding load conditions. The higher damping factor of our amplifier dramatically enhances bass extension, punch, and clarity, making every sound more impactful and immersive.

“This is a game changer because it means home theaters can deliver bass like the audience has never heard—or felt—before,” says Geoffrey Heinzel, Co-Managing Partner of ASCENDO. “Whether it’s the deep rumble of a distant thunderstorm or the precise, tight impact of a gunshot, your audio will be richer, clearer, and more powerful.”
